Hangar One is adjacent to the Aviator Hotel at Sywell and overlooks the busy grass runways of Sywell Aerodrome, one of the finest airfields in the country. The Hangar is made up of 3 smaller hangars, originally erected in 1941 to house aircraft used to train RAF pilots during World War II. In 1948 the smaller hangars were dismantled and re-erected together to form the present Hangar One.
Before being converted for use as a Conference Venue, the Hangar was home to a helicopter organisation, which maintained and sold helicopters to customers around the world. In December 2000 work began to renovate Hangar One and has transformed it into an exciting new Ball venue.
